This specific study will be looking at results stemming from reduced dosages of antibiotics and the potential for decrease in antibiotic resistant infections.With minimal supervision by the Principal Investigator (PI) and within the scope of clinical research protocol, the Project Manager will:-Focus 100% of their time on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) contract. -Be responsible for the overall implementation of the NIH contract and serve as the key contact for technical aspects of the project. -Serve as the study liaison and main point of contact for the contract with the NIH, CHOP, PITT, and the outpatient practices.-Supervise, train, and mentor the CHOP Study Coordinator and two clinical research nurse practitioners s on all aspects of the protocol. -Assist the PI in oversight of implementation and conduct of the clinical trial at the participating sites: CHOP and PITT as well as the 25 outpatient practices at CHOP and 27 outpatient practices at PITT. -Prepare the final protocol, Case Report Form (CRF), informed consent document; design patient questionnaires and telephone scripts; create and maintain the study webpage; and create recruiting materials and prepare educational materials for parents.-Prepare the Manual of Operations (MOO) and the Research Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).-Prepare and obtain IRB approval for both institutions. Complete the paperwork needed for IRB submissions, annual reviews and IRB updates as needed.-Facilitate the manufacturing of the placebo and the purchase of the study drugs and study supplies (syringes, bottles, swabs, shipping containers); prepare and distribute study medication kits; and purchase and monitor medication adherence software.-Develop the data management plan & data entry guidelines; create the database using annotated CRFs; set up the server for the database, including testing back-up and restore, security analysis, software setup, and creation of accounts and use log-ins; develop the data and safety monitoring plan.-Visit and roll out study communications to practice sites, the emergency department (ED), and inpatient units to present and discuss the protocol. Communicate effectively with health care providers and investigators to recruit parents of children with urinary tract infections (UTIs). Coordinate outpatient research activities with medical staff to minimize patient procedures and promote patient compliance. Communicate with health care personnel involved in the care of patients enrolled in department-based protocols on a regular basis as required by the protocol. Provide necessary support to patients and families to remain in compliance with study protocols. Re-visit practice sites, ED, and inpatient units to present and discuss protocol as needed.-Monitor and oversee the activities of the study sites: patient screening, enrollment, confirmation of subject eligibility, the informed consent process, retention of study subjects, scheduling visits and subject follow-up, data/specimen collection, completion of case report forms, data clarification, hosting monitor visits, organizing site initiation visits, and protocol feasibility assessments. Establish enrollment goals, screening logs to document the enrolled, ineligible, and missed eligible subjects for each location. Ensure specimens are collected and shipped according to protocol. -Resolve obstacles to recruitment or protocol adherence that are identified throughout the study.-Conduct semi-annual site monitoring visits meeting with the PI and site staff.-Responsible for meeting enrollment projections within study specified time lines.-Conduct activities and manage all aspects of a study to ensure that all activities within the program are completed on time within budget and in compliance with protocol, SOPs, regulatory regulations and ICH/GCP guidelines.-Manage oversight of all aspects of subject accrual and study conduct.-Facilitate medical monitoring of subjects by reporting adverse events and serious adverse events. Communicate contract manufacturing production plans to QA and work with them to ensure adequate supply of product. Facilitate the resolution of issues with contract manufacturers as needed. Review material such as supply chain trends, sales, forecast, on-time delivery, and develop appropriate inventory strategies to ensure smooth supply. Maintain accountability for New Product Introduction (NPI) including what-if analysis for inventory strategies going forward. Partner with product strategy leaders to ensure proper inventory strategies are in place and any risk or opportunities to product supply are communicated to the business Participate, challenge and recommend any changes to forecast through S&OP through planning team Provide input to the global quota management process to report information with one single approach to the organization Key player in the Globalization strategy of shire. Ensure the right setup of tools and structure is in place for the expansion of new products and territories Accountability to drive and improve the S&OP process for Shire Relationship management Develop and maintain a working relationship with all internal and external stakeholders of product supply.
