Details: TeacherAbout UsChildren’s Crisis Treatment Center, formerly the Center for Early Childhood Services, was founded in 1971 by Louise Sandler, Ph.D. as a demonstration project under a federal grant from the U.S. Bureau of Education for the Handicapped.  Originally under the aegis of the Franklin Institute Research Laboratories, the project sought to research and demonstrate the effectiveness of treatment for emotionally and socially disordered young children and their families based in a sound environment, with an interdisciplinary staff from psychology, psychiatry, social work, and early childhood education. In 1978, the Center became a non-profit corporation and moved to its present location in the Franklintown area of Philadelphia.  The agency’s success in moving from a small, government-supported demonstration project in the 1970’s to a strong and thriving service provider today is due to a history of attracting qualified professionals who are dedicated to serving children and their families. Today, CcTC has 15 programs out of its three main divisions, which are Community-Based Services, School-Based Services, and the Center-Based Division.  A brief description of each is provided below: Responsibilities of Teacher Teach children with emotional and behavioral disorders in accordance with individual treatment plans; evaluate and assess instructional and behavioral needs, and plan and implement remedial instruction, IEPs and behavior management
